I worked with two great retailers to find my wedding gear: RTH in LA and Ralph Lauren in New York. Two different shops, two great experiences. Both centered around customer service. There is still a great social experience to be had shopping in a brick and mortar store where service and knowledge about product are paramount. Granted the price point at both stores is high, but price shouldn't be the determining factor in the level of service.
